Missions In 2007 Jubilee joined with Iris Ministries in building an orphanage in Pemba Mozambique.
Bellow we have included several stories and pictures from the goings on in Pemba. We will try to regularly update what's happening and your prayers are greatly appreciated.

And we continue to be encouraged by this dramatic demonstration of how awesome and loving is the God we serve! Well, amazingly, we have another miracle story to share—and this one was even inadvertently verified by medical personnel. About five weeks ago, during our weekly medical outreach in Mieze, I (Don) met a boy who was suffering from a major hernia. A visiting American doctor on the outreach confirmed that he needed surgery so I arranged for it to be done at the hospital in Pemba. The surgery took place just before Christmas; and on Christmas Day, I took him home again to his Moslem family. His father—who has three wives and 10 children—was very appreciative of our efforts on his son’s behalf and has given permission for his children to be as involved in the Iris church as they like. Three children have become regulars at the church so far! Initially, the boy seemed to be healing well. Then, about three weeks ago, it became obvious the hernia had recurred. So on Thursday of last week I took the boy to a private clinic in the city to see about having the surgery re-done. The doctor who examined him there agreed it was necessary and scheduled an appointment four days later with the clinic’s surgeon. Monday, we returned to the clinic for our consultation with the surgeon; and she recognized the boy immediately, because she had actually performed the failed surgery. While I was feeling awkward about this unexpected turn of events, she examined him. Then she said, “It’s healed nicely, hasn’t it?!” I stared in disbelief. The huge bulge of protruding intestine, which was so evident and uncomfortable, was suddenly completely gone; and, apart from a few stitch marks, he was now normal in every respect. I thanked the surgeon for looking at him again, and she thanked me for taking an interest in a village boy. And we went our way—slightly stunned, but rejoicing over an incredible miracle of God’s healing love! That was just four days ago; and here’s a story of God’s natural love and provision just today. We’ve been working to bring potable water to the Mieze church as part of our project to build two orphan-homes there. Late this afternoon, the water connection was completed and water began to flow from the two taps. The attached picture (“Water”) shows the excitement in the growing crowd as the first water starts to flow. And the other picture (“Running”) shows people running with their water containers as word begins to spread throughout the village about the new water source.
